Slovakian soprano LINDA BALLOVA, enchants public 

and enthuses the press again and again with her 

"beautiful voice"her "stage presence and charisma", 

her "pallet of vocal colours", 

her  "unbelievable intense, psychologically polished and sensitive interpretations"; 

and surprises all with a "huge and strong voice in a graceful build body".

 


Linda Ballova is a member of the ensemble at the Slovak National Theater Bratislava, where she has performed with huge success the title parts of Dvořák’s RUSALKA, Janàček's JENŮFA and Puccini's SUOR ANGELICA. Further, the roles of EMILIA MARTY in Janáče's "Vec Makropulos" in stage direction of Peter Konwitschny,  MAŘENKA in Smetana’s “Prodaná Nevĕsta”; GIULIETTA in Offenbach's "Les Contes d'Hoffmann and the Mozart-parts of DONNA ANNA in  "Don Giovanni"  and VITELLIA in the Slovakian Premiere of “La Clemenza di Tito” under Maestro Peter Haider.


And in the 2022/23 season, she was a celebrated SALOME in Richard Strauss same names opera, as well as TATYANA in Caikovsky's "Jewgeni Onegin" and as EMILIA MARTY in Janacek's "Vec Markopulos" at the Národni Divaldo Brno.


Further guest commitments led her with her as EMILIA MARTY in Janacek’s “Vec Makropulos” to the Music Festival Shanghai, her role-debut as  ELISABETTA in Verdi's “Don-Carlos”  and her role-debut as CIO-CIO SAN in Puccini's "Madama Butterfly" to the National Theatre Brno;  she was a highly acclaimed RUSALKA at her Germany-Debut at Theater Aachen, where she also embodied not less successful the parts of JENŮFA, ELISABETH in Wagner's "Tannhäuser",  GIORGETTA and SUOR ANGELICA in Puccini's "Il Trittico"  and ARIADNE in Richard Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos".  DONNA ANNA in Mozart's "Don Giovanni"  under Andrew Greenwood brought her to the Zomeropera Alden Biesen / Belgium and to the National Opera Prague and  NEDDA in a critical highly acclaimed production of Leoncavallo’s “I Pagliacci” under the baton of Eva Michnik at the Opera Wroclaw.

In addition, she returned to the Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava for her debut as MILA VALKOVÁ in Janáček's "Osud", as well as for  MAŘENKA in "Prodana Nevesta"  and SUOR ANGELICAa In After being a mezzo-soprano for several seasons, performing among others Cherubino in "Le Nozze di Figaro"Stephano in "Roméo & Juliette" or Siebel in "Faust", Linda Ballová, performed her first soprano-part, MILADA in Smetana’s “Dalibor” under the baton of Oliver von Dohnanyi, at the theater in Ostrava.

 

In addition to opera-performances,  she sang Gala-Concerts with Star-Tenor José Cura in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Croatia; as well as under the baton of Kazhem Abdullah  several times at “Classix Night” in Aachen; and In 2019, she recorderd the part of ZUZANKA in Jozef Grešák’s world-premiere  “Zuzanka Hraškovie”  on CD.


Linda Ballová frequently sings concerts with the Slovakian Philharmony Orchestra or the Croatian Radio Symphony Orchestra; mostly performing works by Mozart and Schubert, in the recent past also by Wagner and R. Strauss; 


A big love of Linda Ballova is
 Klezmer-Music, which she performs with the Gypsy Virtuosi Orchestra or the PaCoRa-Trio among others at the  International Festival Krumlov.


Mrs. Ballova had the pleasure to work with 
 Conductors and Stage Directors such as Kazem Abdullah, Jozef Bednark, Marioa Corradi, Oliver von Dohnanyi, Peter Gabor, Paolo Gatto, Friedrich Haider, Robert Jindra, Ewa Michnik, Ewa Reilmans, Joan Anton Rechi, Pavol Smolnik, Michael Tarnt oder Waldemar Zawodzinski .

 

Linda Ballova was born in Bratislava, where sh visited a bi-lingual Slovakian-English Highschool.
She studied at the Conservatory for Music and Drama in Bratislava (VSMU) with Prof. Z. Livorová, and completed her studies with regularly masterclasss with Ruthilde Bosch in Vienna.

 

She is winner and prize recipient of and at numerous competitions. To name only a few:
1.PRIZE and the "Andrej Kucharsky Award fo the best artistic interpretation" an the "Best Interpretation of a Eugen Suchon-Award" at the  „Imrich Godin International Singing Competition Iuventus Canti' ;
the 2.PRIZE and one year later the 1. Prize at the "Competition of all Slovakian Conservatories"; the Special Prize at the International Singing Competition Antonin Dvořak"; the 2. PRIZE at the „International Singing Competition Mikuláš Schneider“, and the „Trnavský Andreas V. Georgiou Award for the best female artistic interpretation"; and another 2.PIZE  at the "Rhodos International Music Festival Competition“.

In addition, she was a finalist at the International Vocal Competition Ferruccio Tagliavini“.
